Just got a new Old Town Discovery 158 and I am looking for hauling ideas.  I have been looking at truck racks but did not know if anyone had any ideas on where and what kind to get.  I drive 2005 F150 step side.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Any other ideas on hauling would be good too.  Thanks.

I use the yakima outdoorsman and really love the versatility of being able to take the rack off in only a matter of 10 minutes.....i drive a f350 and have had threetandem canoes on it with room for more if we had gotten creative....
enjoy the 158, i am  currently looking for one myself.....

Thanks grillmaster.  I dont know where you live but Terrapin Outdoors in Piedmont has always had the best prices around and they are super nice folks who answer about any question you might have.  They have a big selection of kayaks and canoes.

A Standard ladder rack works just fine.  Toss some funoodles on the cross bars and even better!

Here's the advice I got when I asked a similar question.  Works great and I have the 169 Discovery.

So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards."
