We just did an overnight trip of section 9 from Pine Glen to FS 500 trailhead. There was plenty of water available, even most of the seasonal sources had at least a trickle of flow. The trail was in good shape. Maybe 3 or 4 new  blowdowns between the FS 531 crossings.

I'm thinking of hiking the same section this weekend and had some questions on the logistics.  Where did you park cars?  Are there any issues with parking?  Do you have to pay to use the parking lot at the campground?

Thanks for any help.

We parked at the FS 500 trailhead and had someone drop us off at Pine Glen. I don't know if you have to pay just to park there. As far as issues with parking: who knows where the wild crackheads are gonna strike next? Some say it is safer to park at the campground because of the other campers around to deter vandalism.

I've thought about asking the folks at the FS office next to FS500 parking area to let me park there intheir lot. Thought it may be a little more secure.
