I'll be taking some friends camping the beginning of Nov and am looking for suggestions for a good day hike to take them on in the Cheaha or Dugger Mountain area.  Also looking for a nice campsite for 4-6 people.  We will drive up Sat morning, set camp, and hike the remainder of the day.  I am fairly familiar with the area but it has been a while since I have been up there.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Turnipseed Camp is good area($5 per unit or campsite fee, i believe).  You can set up there and pick up the Chinnabee Silent Trail - NE goes to Caney head with good views, but pretty rugged hiking; SE goes toward Lake Chinnabee with Cheaha Falls and the camping shelter(approx 1mi), Devil's Den Falls(approx 3 mi), and lake Chinnabee(approx 4mi).

If you started at High Falls, the intersection of Odum/Pinhoti/Chinabee is a large and flat area that can fit a large number of tents.   I pass by there are few weeks ago and there was no water however.  You could look from there to Odum/Nubbin Creek->back over to the Pinhoti (where Nubbin meets Cave Creek) and come back to the intersection on the Pinhoti.   You'll have great views from the Pinhoti.

Another looks is the good ole Cave Creek->Pinhoti loop.  There is a good camping spot above the cave creek stream that could probably fit a bunch of tents and you'll have water too.  This one will be tougher coming back on the Pinhoti though.
