I can tell from many posts on this site that people are ready to get into the woods. Lets forget our differences and share the slendor of the gifts of the Mountains and Trails in our backyard!

Have you:

1. cleaned and waterproofed boots

2. re seam sealed your tent

3. cleaned the stove

4. new filter for water filter

5. changed batteries in your headlamp- no do not "check" them - put in new ones !

6. what food was best last year

7. set dates for 3 trips

8. looked forward to cooler weather to hike

Plan to be dry and hydrated - but plan to go soon.

Everything save for number 7!  I am so ready to go. I just need warm bodies to drag into the woods.

Yes indeed camel and bellaleo,

Some of us are better at last minute expeditions though.  And we probably aren't as thorough about our preparations.

I just recharge aaa batteries for both my headlamp and mp3-radio.

Filter for my msr sweetwater has lasted over 3 years and it's $40- I have a spare, but keep it at home. If filter clogs, I'll either collect directly at a spring or carry a few3 iodine tabs.

About the warm bodies, it is more fun to find one or two to go with, or at least meet somebody to camp with at night.  That reminds me , I need to post about the Pinhoti workday for the sections done by AHTS.

I'd like to tag along whenever dates are decided. I'm interested in something during the 1st weekend-ish in Dec. I haven't packed on the Pinhoti in years and have really been looking forward to it after moving back South. In fact, researching it, and looking for like-minded folks is what landed here on this forum. I look forward to meeting some of you guys. If not this go around, maybe next time.
