Hello All,

I talked with the ranger station today at Bankhead. The fire ban has been extended to Dec 31st 2010, and includes all areas of the National Forest, not just the Wilderness Area.

Fire's are allowed in designated camping area's (Brushy, Cornith, Houston) inside a official fire ring.

Well that sucks.  Especially with rain coming in the new few days.  I'd hoped to go camping this weekend, but I don't know now.

With the first hard freeze of the season coming up this weekend, there will be lots of leaves on the ground after the rain to feed a fire.
