Back to Sipsey

Hey everybody,I woke up this morning and didn't have much to do so back to Sipsey I went and spent the day walking around again. All of the waterfalls had huge ice-sicles hanging from them.there were quite a few people out today.
Hey Suz, you might want to consider driving back down to the Borden Creek trailhead and cross the bridge and follow the other side of the river up to Fall Creek. The crossing was very slick because of the ice and I really enjoyed walking back down on the oppisite side. It is a little more difficult because there are some blowdowns, but nothing that you can't walk around. The Trail is easy to follow as it just follows the river.
Just thought I would pass this on since you are going back this weekend.

Skippy,
Did you walk on the side with the tunnel? Or did you walk down one side and up the other one? How long (time) did it take from the bridge to the Falls? This fall we hiked to the river from the side with the tunnel, but we didn't cross and go to the Falls. I really can't say why I haven't been, knowing I've been so close. Or maybe I went, and didn't know which falls I was looking at...
That is a pretty walk. Were there many campers?
Now I need to decide if I am going to try to do both, or just work on the Borden Creek walk. Thanks, though for the information.

I walked both sides,to begin with I started at the picnic area and walked to where you cross the river.I crossed there where the rocks are at,walked to fall creek(about 10 minutes once you cross the river) and continued up trail 209 about 2 miles past fall creek.
Then I turned around and came back to the river crossing, but did not cross it but turned left instead and walked back up Borden Creek on the left hand side to the bridgeand Trailhead.(about 1 hour for me) It was very pretty walking back on this side but there are several blowdowns to walk around.
I then walked back to the Picnic area on the Tunnell or the side where the trail goes thru the rocks.(about 1 more hour) I was just taking my time enjoying the scenery.
I saw 2 groups of overniters and 3 groups of dayhikers during the day

If you did not want to do the river crossing, just park at the Borden Creek trailhead ,walk across the bridge and veer to your left and follow it to where the river merges and go right and follow trail 209 about 10 minutes until you see the falls.you can't miss them
I think about 3 or 4 hours round trip taking your time

I'll probably do that this weekend. Its really made a difference in my week, having been hiking. The last time I went was on our overnighter in November to Thompson Creek, and I get cranky if I'm not in the woods often.
Have fun hanging around and let us know about the good stuff you see.
