I put 32 oz Gatorade bottles filled with water in my tank of the commode.  This saves half a gallon per flush.

I'd like to rig something to my washer to drain the wash water to the trees in my yard instead of to the sewers.

Use bath water to water plants and outside pots and any new plantings.

Don't run tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, scrubbing pots and plates before running.

Fill dishwasher, fill clothes washer before running.

Repair leaks.

Low flow shower heads.

Aerators on the sink taps.

Send some more!

I normally go running at 5am or earlier. I don't think DW and the kiddos would appreciate me banging all those pots that early. [/smartass]

laugh laugh Flemdawg, good one.  I have been told that using the dish washer is actually more conservative on water usage than washing them in the sink. Just don't use the dry cycle which uses alot of elecjuicity. If you choose to wash your car it is wise to use the car wash because much of the water that is used in the inital stages of washing is recycled water. Using grey water as Suz discribes is a great idea, just be sure to watch for run off into water sources if you use harsh detergents and live on or near a stream or lake. Now, about that clothes dryer...... What ever happened to that ol' fashioned clothes line? I'm sure some of us do remember them.....

One thing I've done is collect the A/C condensate and use that water for gardening.
