Has anybody else read this book? I'm about halfway through it and it's brilliant!
Natural Navigation

It's basically a collection of techniques from across the world that help you hone your directional senses without the use of maps, compass or GPS. By learning to read the weather and knowing how it affects the area you are in you can see subtle clues in the landscape to help you find direction. It goes much more in depth than simply knowing a few constellations or tracking the sun. I recommend it to anybody here.

Good to hear from you Smoke. The book sounds interesting. I'm sure I'll be sticking with GPS or at least a map and compass, but that would be a good skill to have. When I finsh the Hemingway book I'm reading I will consider this.

Yeah I been out for a while David. Haven't been on the trail in some time either, I'm dealing with a herniated disc. I'm hoping to be in trail shape by the end of this year. Glad you're still around bud.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about your back bro. That is some serious stuff. I know how badly you want to get back out, just be sure you're ready or you'll be right back at the starting point of healing.
