I have heard that Coldwater Mountain,in Oxford, is supposed to have some mountain biking trails, soon.  Does anyone know if any of these have opened, yet?

Talked with a friend of mine, Matt Johnson, who is one of the volunteers working on the Coldwater Mtn Trail.  It should be completed within 6mos - 1 year and will have 40+ miles of trails, with 8 different access points.  Trails will be various skill levels.  I'm pretty pumped, as i only live 3 1/2 miles from this area!
BTW - my daughter and i ended up going mtn biking on the trails in the Choccolocca management area (i believe Gene's Loop).  Had a lot of fun....

In that area, I think there is a new mountain bike trail in Jacksonville at Henry Farms too (area behind the hospital).  I think it's pretty short right now, maybe just a couple miles.

I've heard of another trail where you right through an old airplane fuselage but I am not sure if that's true or not.

I was told the trail in Jacksonville is short, but pretty technical - not good for beginners.  If i'm not mistaken, the trail we took in Choccolocca is supposed to go through some old crashed military vehicles (choppers, planes, or something); however, we didn't see it on Friday.  We didn't do all the loops, so we might have missed it.
