The weather wasn’t as bad as I had expected it to be yesterday. It was actually perfect for hiking; warm, breezy, and overcast. This was the first time I hiked TR204 and I found it a super easy trail to follow. It was also a change of pace from the lower valleys and their scenery. Someone has been on the trail very recently doing lots of maintenance. Thanks whoever you are! The trail itself has a waterfall (from above) and lots of interesting bluff line to explore. The canyons that border the trail likely have some interesting secrets as well. Get the full report and map here: http://www.alabamatentandtrail.com/

Boy Scout Troop 336 from Hartselle did the major cleanup just last weekend.

"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it while you can, while it is still there. So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards." LOL, well they didn't report it if it was one of them! I told one of the leaders you mentioned their work and thanked them for it.
