Snakes are out!

Saw two midland water snakes on the east fork of Beech Creek today [and a couple of waterfalls].  Seems early for the legless wonders...

Thanks for the heads up Sam. I heard something in the leaves when I hike TR204 last week, but never saw what it was. With this warm weather I've suspected those guys might be out and about.

I thought that was your car at tapsville cemetery. Me and my wife considered going to east fork beech but went to Payne creek instead how was the hike other than dodging snakes.

They'd better keep their scaly little hides close to their holes or they're liable to freeze the next cold snap that comes through.

Payne Creek's more enjoyable, Mongo.  I found 4 or 5 minor falls, some initials/ what looks like "1948" scribed on a tree, and a set of interesting markings that I'm not sure what to make of.  Wasn't the most pleasant of hikes, very brushy, and outside of the handful of side jaunts to catch a small waterfall, not all that scenic.  I had higher hopes given the topo maps of what it'd look like, I guess.    Some more photos here.
