I love old Iron. I'm pretty partial to the mid 60s kenmore zigzag models myself.

Wow!  That's a beauty!  And $70 really isn't much to pay for one of those older singers in full working order and that good of condition.  That thing looks like it was hidden away in an attick somewhere and never used, or completely restored.  Either way, that was a steal at $70.  I would have bought it without hesitation.

It was actually still being used up until just recently.  When I met the guy to buy it he told me he was sure it worked but had not plugged it in because the cord was a little frayed and he was worried about that.  He said that he bought it in an estate sale and was being used still by the old woman when she died.  In fact... He told me she DIED using it...  Little creepy but oh well  ;o)

I had to oil it up a little and take a few plates off and clean it up a little to get the belt to turn.  After about half and hour of TLC it is running like a champ!

Nice machine !  Those old Singers seem to last forever, don't they? Amazing when you consider that the older generations made almost all of their clothes on them. They didn't buy everything like we do, they bought raw materials and made them.

It is kind of creepy the lady died while using it. Or maybe not: perhaps it will be "haunted "by her loving spirit and experience and be a blessing to you in your projects. For your safety I hope you replace the frayed cord. At least cover the frayed area with electrical tape or silicone.

I just love the fact that it looks so clean, I mean I see a spot that looks kind of like fresh paint, and the bed does show some wear, but man that thing is clean!  I was kind of wanting one of those in good working order to make projects with, but the Necchi machines have won me over, if I find them for the right price, I'll buy every vintage Necchi I can get my hands on lol.

Still want me one of those old singers though.
