That's probably all that's left. I guess it was a waste of time destroying the fire ring behind that barn under the shed. And picking up all the trash everytime we went by there. What's next, burn down the info board? Oh well, the young thuglets have nothing to hide behind there anymore, so maybe they'll have to drink and smoke meth somewhere else. Any bets on how long will it take before there's a fire pit built against the rock with the wilderness plaque on it?

So, Im guessing burns trail head is problably not the best place to leave your car for a few days? (I was thinking of hiking from there, do I need to make other arrangments? Is there a history of car vandalism there?) First the cabin, and then the barn, thats very upsetting, very sad.............

As far as parking, I've never had a problem with anyone vandalizing my vehicle here. I think 99.9% of the problems are the same as elsewhere: bored h#!!raisers with nothing better to do. Look at the three who burned the cabin down. Also, the last three times I visited Dugger Wilderness, I cleaned up trash and removed a fire ring from under the shed at the back of the barn. It was always the same stuff: beer cans and bottles, plastic baggies, foil etc.

Why am I finding nothing about this on the Anniston Star website or the Piedmont Journal website?
And whatever happened to the three firebugs who were to be sentenced in mid-February for burning down the cabin? I can find no mention of that. Was the sentencing delayed?

This should at least show up in a police report, but who has jurisdiction in that area?

I think Calhoun County has jurisdiction there. I looked at their website but found nothing.

I sent an e-mail to The Anniston Star today, and the person I talked to had no clue. I'm pretty sure not many people know. It's hush-hush for some reason.

I have a friend at the Piedmont Journal who claims the barn burned last year sometime. He had no online articles he could send me about it, though.
