First I want to say thanks to everyone for the help, our trip was wonderful, and the views were amazing.

For my short write up and a few pics : http://www.engineerpaul.com/2011/04/our-first-pinhoti-trip.html

We missed the cave on cave creek, does anyone have the coordinates for it?  We think think we know where the trail to it might be in hindsight.  We plan on making it back on another trip.

Also anyone going to Cheaha trailhead via cave creek, the signs are confusing as squidbilly mentioned Reply #19.  There are 2 signs and they are in contradiction on which way to go.  Luckily from this post I knew to keep left.

The creek at Little Carney head was flowing,  but that is the only water we saw on the Pinhoti between heaven and the Cheaha trailhead.    Also lots little purple flowers where all over the trails(last pic in my blog post), but I don't know its name.

Glad you had a good time and were able to see some mountain vistas.  Elevation wise, the mountain top loop is nice and not much different than what you can find down around Mobile/Pensacola.  But, the rocks are a different story.  I'll take the rocks any day if that is the price of hiking in the mountains vs flatlands.
