I'm currently in the planning stages for my 2 final hammocks, one will be 1.1 double layer Hennessy Clone, but with the 72" wide fabric, I'll make a pentagon tarp, the front will look like a normal Hex tarp, but the back will be minimal to shave some weight. Wilsons isn't going to have what I need for the time being. This particular hammock will be my backpacking hammock, and when wandering the woods over longer hauls I don't see tons of benefit to being stealth and hidden, It'll be bright colors (Orange) in the off chance I get lost, I can be seen from the air. I already have the Sil to build the tarp, I just need the ripstop, netting, and zipper to build the body, I even have the suspension items made already.
The second will deffinately be a kayak camping set up, weight will not be much of an issue, so it'll be made from heavier materials, since that's the bulk of my camping, it'll need to stand up to more abuse and usage as well. Some mid weight breathable camo fabric will be used to make it similar to what your wife picked up. I want digital or a realtree type pattern, preferably some realtree type nylon, then I can get the same netting I used on my current rig, and just dissapear on the bank of the river in a big cush doublewide hammock with pockets and storage. I realize chanced are I'll have to coat my own tarp if I want it to be realtree type camo hehe. No biggie. I plan for the tarp to be a nice 12x12 tarp with doors and even a stove jack. I'm figuring the setup will be at least 5 to 6 lbs hehe. I want to build the Caddilac of DIY camping hammocks. I'll likely use Wilsons for most of this as I want to see it and feel it before I buy it. I don't want to end up with some rough nylon for a hammock body, I want it semi heavy and durable with softness.
Something like this gentlemans setup.

It's really nice having that type of fabric store nearby to go and explore the options.
