It must be to hot to hike, paddle, fish or chat about it from the lack of buzz on Alatrails lately. I'm checking http://www.whiteblaze for hooking up in the fall for an AT section hike north of Erwin, TN as well as a guy who wants to do the "Georgia loop" which is a combo of the AT, Duncan Ridge and Benton McKaye trails. I'm not sure how far it is but one guy said he wanted to do a 4 or 5 night hike on this.

Anybody here interested in something like that with me?  I've got a buddy in Macon,Ga  that usually goes with me on AT section hikes. We have done 3 sections averaging 12-15 miles over 7 days. I also want to hike the 2 road sections of the GA Pinhoti sometime.

Eh, I haven't felt like posting much or writing trip reports lately.  I camped on Caney Creek in May, White Creek in Sipsey last month and this past weekend in the smokies.  There's a day hike up Turkeyfoot and Fall creeks thrown in the mix there somewhere too that was a scorcher.  Unless things go wrong I'll be back in the smokies two weekends from now.

When are you looking to do this trip on the AT?

My next outing will be the annual camp out in March (the SEHowl).

My activities have focused down quite a lot this year. I'll be taking about four long trips a year now and very few short ones. Finances are getting real tight and I'm trying to survive the next 9 years until I can retire.
