Saturday was my first overnight stay in Sipsey. Hiked down 201 to 206 heading for the Needles eye and Ship rock but couldn't locate the trail crossing. So I decided to set up camp since I had gotten a late start because the camping was what I was really there for anyway. Set up my new Grand Trunk hammock and tarp, then gathered wood for my fire. 3 young hikers came down the same trail as I had and asked me was it 206 and where was the crossing. I was glad to hear it wasn't just me.

Enjoyed the hammock but learned right quick that my sleeping bag wasn't going to cut it. My feet nearly fell off they got so cold and then I remembered I had feet warmers in my pack. Ahhh! That helped. Decided in the morning to bushwack on down the Sipsey to 209 and take it back to 201 and my car. Man was I in for a surprise when I had to go up the that hill on 209! Made it back to my car by 10am and only found 1 tick crawling up my pants leg when I got to the car.

Can someone tell me where I went wrong on the crossing? After passing the big bolders on my right, I followed the path around the bend and down the hill but the trail kinda went away. Looked all up and down the bank from the deep water on my left to a couple hundred yards on my right but couldn't find where it crossed. Hmmm?
