Turnipseed Camp

I know this sounds like a stupid question. fs.wsda.gov says that Turnipseed Camp is closed from Dec 1st to March 1st. Does that mean you cant camp there again until March? If not, is there anyplace near that that would be good?

Fungi;
Officially the camp is closed during that time and the bar is across the drive going into the camp which eliminates
vehicle access.
The Chinnabee Trail goes through the campground and is open to backpackers year round.
Personally, I would use the campground if I was backpacking through there unless there is a notice on the bulletin
board prohibiting use by hikers, If so then to be safe I would hike the 1 mile to Cheaha Falls which has plenty of
water and level campsites creekside and a shelter across the creek on the hill a couple hundred yards away.

BB is right on. I'd go to Chinnabee falls if I was passing through and just looking for a place for the night. The falls have better water and as good places to throw up a tent.

You can also camp near the creek, just a short distance to the east of Turnipseed. It's out of the camp, has reliable water, and is a large, flat area.
