Tues. 12/13/11 8:00 AM, 42 degrees, severe clear

High Falls was cascading with about as much flow as any time I have been there but that would be the last water
we would see for 5 miles as we  made our way up the ridge on the long gradual climb to the Nubbin Creek trail.
This area had several old blow downs but hikers had bushwhacked good trails around most of them. The trail had
several yellow blazes and would be easy to follow the beaten path anyway.
When we made the right turn onto the Nubbin Creek trail and made the long descent we found all the stream crossings
flowing very well and maybe they will now until summer.
Both trails have many good campsites on the ridges with good views and also in the lower areas with more wind protection.
 Recap;
7 miles, 4 hours
no wildlife,
no other hikers,
no autos at the trailheads.
Personal rating, 10% difficult, 10% moderate, 80% easy.= 100% nature

Next week, Pinhoti section 13 NB
