Any suggestions for a place with a view other than McDill Pt.? We've decided the hike to McDill would be too much for some of our guests. Thanks for any input you have.

Why not the overlook on 281?  Nice view and folks can park and walk up. Any view on the Pinhoti means climbing, AFAIK. Or the view from Cheaha?

The Rock outcropping on the Cave Creek Trail is a shorter and easier hike than McDill, but it's still a fair distance.

There is a view at the Pinhoti dedication moment that is not too far down the trail. There is marriage rock on the Cave Creek trail. You may want to look at Bald Rock. There is a nice board walk that goes to the spot. Cheesy

I personally like the lake view across the dam at Choccolocco.  You might be able to get the ATCA to open the gate and darn near drive right to the shelter.

The clearing at the dam of Sweatwater lake would be a short walk if you have a good 4x4 to shuttle guests down to the trail.

My only concern with Sweetwater is that's is commonly known and used by locals. When I did my first thru, as I was passing there I became blatantly aware that it was officially 'redneck nekkid swimming day.'  This was a memo I did not receive, nor was I warned of... :-/

Appreciate the ideas! I think we've found a spot. It doesn't have an awesome view but it is in the woods and that is where I like to be. Smiley Plus the drive will be fairly decent for even cars.

Are you going to hike off into the sunset after the ceremony and reception featuring fresh filtered or Steri-pen-ed water, Cliff Bars and GORP ?

Are you registered at REI, Campmoor or locally?

Let God bless

Most everyone in Homewood has all their teeth. At this little Sweetwater soire, teeth were optional.

Actually, I think it was a combined event,
The Homewood Garden Club and
The Jeffco Solar Friends.
