Did the hike to White Falls and the pool. Got to the trailhead and there was a couple of cars. Arrived just as the morning rain was stopping, about 11 AM. Went to the turn and tree #50 was gone, the March storms got him. He's on the ground, but pointed in the right direction anyhow. After about 20 minutes made it to the creek junction and after another few I was there. I truly had a nice quite lunch and enjoyed the place. It was still until I lit the stove for coffee, then here comes a nice cool breeze.  Grin
We were going out for dinner and needed to get back in a timely manner so we back tracked instead of going to the river and back up 209. Saw several folks going in on the way out, the trailhead had many more cars too.

Apparently the sight of a grown man pissing himself and screaming like a little girl is terrifying to pork, and is a reliable means of pig deterrance.

Bummer indeed.  Another old landmark gone. Thanks for sharing that info.

The falls and pond are a special place to visit.   Glad you got to go.

"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it while you can, while it is still there. So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards."
