So I was doing some research and discovered this little tidbit. I was wondering how that ranks among hikers.

I don’t have an “everyday” figure. Including treadmill time, I probably exceed 1,000 miles per year. But daily averages vary greatly: the closer I am to a multi-day hike, the more likely I am to hit the treadmill or the woods.

I am not possitive about a daily total but I walk a lot. Chasing lawnmowers I walk more than the average person.

As a medical professional I can say that we walk a ridiculous amount, and break the 400 yards a day rule.

I have made a habit out of running at least 2mi per day. Whether I do 2 together or 2 1mi runs, I cover at least 2 mi a day.

Lately, I've been surpassing that in my training for the half marathons. Even without my running, I'd still be willing to bet that I cover more than the 400yrd part Smiley

Lately walking in a hilly park 9 - 10 miles a day with a daypack.  And even then still do 2 - 3 miles on the treadmill after dinner.   But then I'm getting ready to thurwalk the Pinhoti
