No idea what made me think about this after I got home saturday.  Do any of you do anything special to your water filter after using it?  I have the MSR miniworks (which I love) and have never done anything other than remove the ceramic element so that it can dry.  I thought about it saturday that maybe I should filter some water with a little clorox through it.  I then thought it may be bad for the o rings and such so did not.  I also have never replaced the o orings and such as it has been a champ in the field.  Any suggestions or ideas?

Exactly what you said. Filter some water through it, add a little bleach/clorox (1:10 clorox:water), then let it air dry. Some will put it in the freezer (core) to keep stuff from growing on it, but if it's not dry it could get damaged.

I tend to filter water/bleach through it, let it air dry, and store it w/ the rest of my gear. It's been good to me this long.
