The Turkey Creek Nature Preserve was created recently and our goal for this field trip is to expose others to the beauty and potential of Turkey Creek and identify wildflowers. Join the Blanche Dean Chapter of the Alabama Wildflower Society for an early spring wildflower walk. Take a look at the link for more information and pictures.
http://www.freshwaterland...rust.org/turkey-creek.htmMeet at the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve entrance parking lot at 11:00AM. Bring a sack lunch and a drink, dress for the weather in comfortable clothes and shoes for walking. This is an easy hike. Follow these directions to get there:
From Birmingham, exit I 20/59 at Tallapoosa Street (Exit 128); take Tallapoosa Street (Al Hwy 79) to Pinson (about 18 miles). Go past the entrance to Jefferson State Community College. At the intersection of Alabama 79 and Alabama 151, turn left at the traffic light. Then we will take the 2nd right into the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.
