Nice new pic's Matthew and Lesley. Thanks for sharing! How did the new Hubba Hubba do?    Happy Trails..........

We still have a few to upload. Ok we have a lot to upload.
The trip was great. We were supposed to do the Pisgah loop but were cutoff by an uncommonly large snowmelt for the area. It brought the creeks and rivers up way to high for us to cross. we did manage to cross south mills river twice on the way in and twice on the way out but I am sure glad we scrubbed it early otherwise we would still be trapped out there. The next day the water was completely impassable where we had crossed. We ended up staying there the night on this side of the river and it was just gorgeous.
We had a few extra days because we scrubbed the original hike so we did a little tour of the Pisgah NF, Nantahala NF, and Chattahoochee NF. Did a little hiking on the Bartram, Pinhoti, Benton Mackaye, and Appalachian trails. Mostly we just car camped at some of the state parks after the Pisgah. All in all it turned from a backpacking trip into one of the best road trips of my life.
I will post more pics as time allows.

Matthew

Ohh and the Hubba was worth every penny. It's so lite and stays so dry its just unbelievable. The night we stayed by the South Mills River we were pretty low in the valley and wolk up to a frost but the condensation never touched us and the one cor fairly early ner of my pack that was outside of the vestibule was frozen solid. The next night we left the fly off to enjoy the stars and man what show. Since the tent is mostly bugnetting it was incredible.

We saw some people in the springer mountain parking lot and then nothing. I think the thruhikers have already pretty much made their way. There was a hostel we went by outside of Vogel SP that looked like it was jumping. There were like 50 people hanging out on the deck and people waiting in line at the phone booth. As for the Hubba I would say to anyone it is worth it. If you are on a slightly tighter budget the difference between it and our old Kelty gunnison 2 is negligible. In fact the kelty is roomier but there is a bit more condensation to deal with and its about a pound heavier. We loved both of these tents though and would recommend them to anyone.
I promise to get the rest of the pictures up soon.
