I've spent a lot of time planning and executing hikes on the Pinhoti.  I delayed but finally bought the Pinhoti Trail Pocket Guide.  I wish I had bought it much earlier.  It sure helps planning days and stops.  It is also the perfect size to carry.  The Pinhoti Trail Alliance developed and sells the Guide.  Check it out and help support the association.  www.pinhotitrail alliance.org ( I have no association with them, I just think the guide is really helpful)

I will have to get one of these. You are the first review I have seen on the pocket guide. Thanks for passing on the good info. Any more is well appreciated.

hi mountain dog and lawnmower,

I bought one of the trail guides too a few weeks ago, but have not had a chance to hike with it yet.  Just wanted to mention that I'm interested in doing more section hikes on the Pinhoti but need to partner up with someone to do the car shuttle as well as making the hike more interesting.  Lawnmower, thanks again for the two days we hiked together, both rain and shine, and especially the ride to my car.  So if anyone else wants to pair up for a one to three nighter on the Pinhoti before it gets hot, send me a private e-mail - I don't log on here all that often.

I have just sent my check for the 2008 guide.

I plan on doing sections this fall and finishing up early spring.  I then plan on doing a thru hike next fall.

The moral to the story is I would welcome the opportunity to hike with someone to make the shuttle easier.

Thanks,

CB

I did find one problem with it. The word Weogufka is mispelled to the point people may look for the wrong town when trying to get to Flagg Mountain.
