I made my first kayak purchase in June......unfort unately, I have only been down the river (cahaba) three times since. I had to pack them on the beach trip just to get in some water. Also, try riding down a steep hill on a mt bike when it's this dry......You easily lose 25% of your original traction = Not safe. Let's pray for rain.

Normally I wouldn't be in for watering grass and such. But since I live on a steep incline my yard will end up at the bottom of the hill if don't do something.

I went up to GSMNP three weeks ago and the water level was horribly low. Poor fishie ..... (poor me) not to mention the danger of wildfire.

Looks like I need to make a donation to our volunteers (FF).

was on the Pinhoti 3 months ago, no water, I found 1 spring on the Cave Creek trail but it would have taken 2 hours to fill a Nag bottle.

We are planning a trip for the 27th and I don't know if we are going to be able to do it with no water available.

Went to the Sipsey Wilderness last weekend and hiked TR209 to Fall Creek Falls. Borden Cr. was a tiny stream and Fall Cr Falls was barely a drip.

Had a good time anyway.  Smiley

Things were pretty back up in Sipsey last weekend. The river was really low, the falls near the pavillion was dry, and Turkey Foot Creek was a trickle beyond the river. Upper Caney Creek Falls was really bad. Here's a comparison...

Last Weekend:

October 2005 (and a full water comparison as well):

Hopefully today's rain will be the beginning of a trend...

Well it looks like we are getting a few inches this week. Man I sure hope it keeps up. I spent the weekend in Oklahoma and they sent the rain back with me. They said they had enough of the stuff.

Yeah, I don't know about the rest of the state, but here along 280 (near Meadowbrook) we got hammered last night!
