I don't live in Bama anymore more, but i've been thinking about how beautiful it is ever since I left.  Anybody been out to buck's pocket lately?  How was it?

Bucks Pocket State Park is located about 20 miles NE of Lake Guntersville State Park. I have not been there for a few years. I heard the state is trying to sell it.

Couldn't ask his wife about it.... I've been to Buck's Pocket recently and it is still beautiful. Last time I went though, I ran up on a copper head. I didn't know anything about the state trying to sell it.

It's on my list of places I need to visit before I leave Alabama in May. I've been within a few miles of it several times, but Bald Eagles and some nearby waterfalls always took my attention away...

I recall hearing something about the state thinking about selling it, but if I recall it was years ago when that actually happened, but people (including myself) occasionally hear about that and worry.

I haven't been in years, but it's one of my fondest memories.  I went camping with my grandfather there.  Good time.  Great view from the top of that rock too.  I guess thats why it's called alabama the beautiful...

If you go to the southeast end of Bucks Pocket, a place called Morgans Cove, in February, you'll see many bald eagles soaring around the embayment (South Sauty).

IF the creek is up and running in the early spring, the fishing in the whitewater is pretty good. Good enough to give you a good trout fix, if having winter withdrawls.

Down at the southeast end of the canyon, where the creek dumps into the lake, is a pretty nice backcounty camp. It's about a 2 mile hike along an old dirt road that follows the creek. The site is complete with picnic tables.

Haven't heard of being on the selling block. I hope not...been going there for about 45 years.
