June: 1-2 night BP trip at Mammoth Cave NP

Trying to figure out rightnow is there is antwhere else I wanna go. I want it to be someplace cool (temp) but don't wanna drive over 500 miles. Got a suggestion?

That is God's country!  I love that part of the mountains, in TN & NC.  between Robbinsville & Tellico Plains!  Oh Yeah!  I won't name my favorite spots but they aren't touristy.  Opal hit Tellico a lick, but that has been a while back.  Can't wait to see the pics.

Unfortunatley no hiking for me this summer. Only forced marches.  Grin

Jaybird,

A ferry across Fontana? This summer you probably could have walked it! You could have parked all the cars that visited the smokies in a year in the dry spaces in all the TVA and other surrounding water impoundments. Wink

I actually don't know what I'm going to be up to this summer.

June and July are dedicated to studying for the bar. I'll probably take at least one day a week off from studying, so I'll probably explore a bit up around my parents house, meaning mostly upstate NY, N.E. PA, and N. NJ, but hopefully I'll finally make it at least to Vermont this year. My count of visited states has been stuck for almost a year at the current level, with the last addition being due to trip to Cumberland Gap. http://www.world66.com/my...LGAKYMDMSNJNYNCPASCTNVAWV

August is probably going to be spent finding a job. So is September. October I'm actually a lawyer, assuming I pass the bar.

I think I'm going to try and get a decent trip put together for after the bar, but who knows. I've never been to Maine, but I've also never been out west, so I'm still mulling it over, and wondering if I'll even be able to. I at least have to make it to Watkins Glen in NY this summer.
