It's good to be back home.

Good morning. How are you now that you've had some beach? Did you get fried and burnt?

Nope. But I did almost get pooped on by a bald eagle. Pictures to follow.

Just so you know, there are bald eagles in the Sandy Creek area of Lake Martin now Smiley I saw two this weekend in the tree tops, not 200 yards from my parents lake house.

Awesome!

There are several healthy nesting pairs in Alabama, and many more visitors, these days. I've been hearing reports of large numbers at Waterloo, and all along the Tennessee. I've also seen the nesting pair at Guntersville fending off at least a half dozen juveniles, and at least one adult, in a single day. I've even seen a Bald Eagle at Lake Purdy. Alabama is developing quite a spectacular population, and hopefully, in another decade, they'll be so common that we'll wonder why it was ever so rare and special a thing to see one.

They do poop with considerable force...
