Ok this is something that bugs me about DW. As far as gear, she really doesn't care about the technical stuff as far as her gear is concerned. Such as a couple of months back I buy her a 55l backpack and when I tell her about it her response is "What color is it?".  Huh? Same thing w/ her sleeping bag. "It doesn't matter, you're going to be asleep!" This weekend going dayhiking, she has an excellent pair of Dunham hiking boots, but instead she brings regular running shoes. "Well they were muddy and didn't look good w/ my pants." <pulling hair out>

I know I'm a nerdy engineer, and naturally technical. But come on!? Do women care about gear, I mean beyond the aesthetic? Or is DW just a girly -girl?

Be thankful. My wife called me a wuss for bringing a lightweight blanket to sit on once on a day hike.
