I just noticed that my waterfall portfolio folder on Photo.net is currently the 11th most visited portfolio folder (w/o nudes, that's cheating) in the last three months on Photo.net. Not any sort of achievement, but I look at it as something weird, because I doubt I have anywhere near the most waterfall pictures on Photo.net.

The folder has had over 700,000 views, whereas the highest folder is around 3m, including those with nudes.

In nature folders, I'm #3 for the past three months, and #9 for the past year with regards to that folder.

Here is my Photo.net portfolio, btw... http://photo.net/photos/jo7hs2

I certainly enjoy the photography in this forum. Perhaps a couple of members should entertain the idea of a publication either singly or collectively. You  know who you are!

Jedbear,

Actually, much of my waterfall photography was done with the idea of maybe doing an Alabama waterfall book in the back of my head. The current offerings aren't really comprehensive enough for my tastes, with the Waterfall Walks and Drives being about the least useful, having only a handful of waterfalls in Alabama. Scenic North Alabama has great directions to a small portion of the waterfalls in Alabama (Schuffert knows of a lot more, although I have a few up my sleeve that I bet he doesn't know about), and Alabama's Canyons is an excellent coffee-table book slash trail guide, but there really isn't a comprehensive waterfall guide for Alabama currently out there.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be the man to write that book. First, I'm 1000 miles from Alabama right now, and I'm not sure when I'll be anywhere near the state again in the near future. Second, I'm at a major transition point in my life, and I have no clue what my plans are more than a few months in advance right now. Most importantly, the last time I turned my waterfall hunting into work, I stopped doing it completely. I'm wary to try that again unless I have to. Although, I'm not saying I wouldn't do a calendar or postcards or something.

There some people around here that I expect a book out of eventually. I'll leave it to them to decide when and whether it is the right thing for them.
