And I have to say it was pretty darn cool. I understand the need for a quilt system though. I sleep like a furnace and my 15 degree bag kept my front side toasty but my butt and shoulders suffered. A sleeping bag is apparently not the best way to go in a hammock. I think I would definatly prefer a quilt system. I hade a hard time finding top quilts though. Underquilts seem to be all the rage among hammockers but but the best I could find was the golite ultra 20

This seems to be a good one but a little pricey.

Does anybody think they can put together a sub 200 dollar hammock rig that would take into temps around the 20 degree mark or better?

Take an air pad. Whether it's the cheap blue ones from walmart or a nice thermarest prolite 3. They will help with your back and shoulders. Try that once and see what works. I'm still trying to perfect mine!

So, what kind of hammock did you use?
