Matt, I guess this could go on the calendar if you find it appropriate...I wasn't sure.

Well, the scouts and I are heading to sipsey this weekend if anyone else is. I know, nobody likes scouts, but we're actually working on the 10mi hike requirement and teachings in LNT. Should be fun. We're starting out at the Thompson TH, following 206 around to ship rock & EOTN. We'll meet with 209 and make our way to the big tree and the falls, then a return trip with a small side hike to school house falls.

Should be fun. If anyone else is going to be out there, do let us know. I'd love to say hi!

You betcha, Bear. I'd love to.

I know for now we have this one this month, one at Auburn in August, a car camping trip at Lake Martin in August, and then I'm not real sure.

Tell me, think I'm packing too much? Do remember there is a 40-50% of thunderstorms the next two days.

I just posted a Trail Report for those interested. It was definitely a great time, and even better knowing the kids received their requirements and want to come back!

The bugs weren't bad at all. The worst part were the sweat flies that started accumulating toward the end of our hike. I may have had an advantage b/c I sprayed some deet just before the hike. The bad part is that I still came home with 4 ticks to fight with.

I really hate ticks!!

I believe I have seen that one but there are a few around the wilderness so not sure.  The only reason I knew the name of those growths is because Burl is my dad's name  Wink
