I have a 2006 Haro hard tail. Built from the frame up totally custom with avid juicy 7 disc brakes w/ 8 inch front rotor, Dirt Jumer II fork, maxxis 2.3 inch tires, sun rims, race face bars crank arms, and bottom bracket, egg beater petals, shimano shifters, and a cycle computer its army green too Smiley this bike has only been ridden on the trail, no street abuse. I am moving to the islands and wont have any use for it down there. PM me if you are interested.

Mountain bike wanted

Here is a photo of the original production model, mine is more heavy duty and has better components.

You getting into MountainBiking BearLeader???

I enjoy my Giant Iguana MB... though I don't find the time to ride as much as I would like...  Several of us at work used to go on bike rides during the spring, summer, and fall (usually road).

Have you tried any of the Rail-Trails in our section of the country?  I highly recommend the Chief Ladiga Rail Trail in Piedmont.

Soo bad news for anyone interested in the bike. I told my mom that I was selling it and she freaked out. I think she actually called me retarded.

The University Of Alabama has a semi annual bike auction you could check that out. I have seen pretty decent bikes go for as little as 20 dollars.

I went to UA and never heard of that. Have any ideas of where I can find dates on this sale? I'm in the market for a road bike...

I've never heard of a bike auction at UA either, but would be very interested...  Any details/specifics you can share would be great.

I am on the look out at the local Salvation ARmy for frames and bikes to rebuild myself . That would be a great place to start if you like a little sweat equity. I found a Trek road bike and a hybred by trek put a little money into parts (SHimano mainly) and came out with a couple of great bikes for a little less than $400
I had to get to know the guy who does the bike repair and chat him up a bit but he finally let me dig through the inventory:D heehee
They usually won't sell one unless it works so I found lots of newish parts and frames that needed TLC.
Smiley Craigslist is a good place to look as well I see some in Bham and there are a few bike shops that sell used in your area ( I plan to go visiting when the Mcwane homeschool classes start up and I have free time:)
I know its an older post and maybe you found one by now but I thought I would toss you my two cents:)

Not sure about details, but I saw a Specialized MTB for sale in this post:

Sounds like a good deal if it's got suspension.

Someone mentioned the bike auction at the university. That's a great idea. Over here, at USM, at the end of the semesters there are always students trying to get rid of stuff that can't cram into their car's to take home. And bikes are one of the things. I've seen good deals on all kinds of bikes, both moutain bikes and road bikes, especially at the end of spring semester when so many are graduating. Also, a lot of bikes are just 'left' on campus, still chained to the bike rack. Ask your campus security people what happens to this bikes, you might just score.
