Hey folks, now that it's really nice out and I've managed to convice the wife, we're kayaking the coosa tomorrow!! Smiley Smiley

I'm super stoked. Granted, it's been a few years since I've been, and then I went in a canoe, but tomorrow we'll be in a double sit on top and hitting the water.

So, if any of you are in the area and want to join us, we'll be at the Coosa Outdoor Center at 9:30am and should be in the water by 10.

+/- 7mi, approx 4hrs, Class I/II/III rapids, man life is good! Smiley

What a small world. That is truly cool. You putting in at 10 too?

If your old avatar is what I should look for, I'll keep my eyes open. I'll have my wife and two other friends. Any other way I should look for you?

Matt and I are going with a group that is putting in at 11. We plan to lunch at the Moccasin Rock and spend about 4 hours on the river. Matt's hair will be about the same as the avatar  Cheesy

Hope to see you tomorrow. We're looking forward to the day.

Well,

We made it back! We are a little water logged, tired, and I'm just really sunburned due to poor planning. It was a fantastic day! Matt and I have the boating bug, and I'm sure we'll be harassing you fine folks for all kinds of stuff Grin Catch you soon.

Sorry we missed you. I think we completely overshot the river and got to our checkout point a whole lot sooner than we had imagined. Oh well.

Of course we put in by the dam and our take out was just north of the HWY 14 overpass. We ended up shooting through mocassin gap faster than we had planned and then we were done. I think it took us just under 3hrs.

Yes, it was definitely fun and I think I have my wife hooked. She suggested we look into a used double so we could go early in the mornings or something...
