The late Jerome "Buddy" Cooper and his family have donated 23 acres in the Mentone area to The Land Trust of Huntsville and North Alabama. That includes one-fourth of a mile of riverfront property, according to a press release from The Land Trust.

What are the chances this is any of that land directly next to DeSoto Falls?

I heard of this last month and thought it was odd for an entity nearly 100 miles away getting the land instead of The Nature Conservancy which has more experience managing land all over the state.
