There is lots of chatter about Bigfoot in and around Talladega National Forest, too. There have been numerous sightings at Salt Creek Falls.

I find it about as likely as avian swine that bigfoot exists, but hey, wouldn't it be cool? I mean, it would be pretty interesting to find out that there were native primates in these parts of N. America. It isn't totally unprecedented to see primates in cooler climates, so hey, maybe we'll be writing new biology textbooks in the coming weeks...but I doubt it.

I tend to agree with Joshua on this one. Having said that I have noticed on the latest Version of GoogleEarth if you select the GoogleEarth Community under the Gallery directory some of the icons populated on the map will be links to reports of Bigfoot sightings. If you put the cursor over the icon all it will show is the date of the alleged sighting. If you click on it a window with a link to the report appears. Apparently there are numerous sightings all over the state. Makes for a semi-interesting side note when researching wilderness areas to explore. After all anywhere a bigfoot might be is probably an area worth exploring, bigfoot or not.

As for the claim in the linked article, of course I am very skeptical. I'd bet the test results will be "inconclusive" Wink.

You know, even though I am a strong bigfoot disbeliever (I want to believe, just can't), I still get paranoid if I go somewhere where there has been a reported sighting. Wink

I don't know. I'm calling BS on their story. Way too vague, way too many unknowns, too many "tell you laters", and just a lot of holes in their story.

Maybe when more comes out or something.

Fraud uncovered -- Makes one wonder about their motivation.  Guess it was $$.

I'm not sure about fraud. It was only a matter of time we started seeing possum/human hybrids in north Georgia.  laugh

I knew it was a fake. The Bigfoot family lives in my neighborhood and they were ticked about this. Claire Bigfoot, who makes the best lasagna I have ever had, told me that it was hard enough staying out of the public eye and quite expensive. "Nevermind the constant laser hair removal treatment, and dental work. Do you realize how hard it is finding size 20 shoes for our teenage son?" Yes they are all very proud of little chuck. He is going to Sewannee on a basketball scholarship. Anyhow, They simply find this whole thing rather embarrassing and just wish these "Hunter" types would simply learn to live like civilized individuals.

I will be doing the Chattooga Trail starting 9 Oct 2008, which is in the area where Bigfoot was found.  Will be on the lookout for him.
