California is getting two massive solar arrays: http://www.nytimes.com/20...8f0fed5637&ei=5087%0A

How long before any of the rest of us get significant power from solar? Sure, the east coast doesn't get as many sunny days, but we already have some pretty decent sized wind projects going in, or already online.

Unfortunately i think the main hold up here is that you can't get reimbursed for the power you push back onto the grid.

TVA buys power, not sure about Alabama Power.

These two installations sell directly to PSE&G, so the sellback laws aren't an issue. No reason other than less sun to build THESE types of installations here in the eastern part of the U.S., although our governments aren't making mandates nearly as large (if at all) as California's new energy mandate.

TVA does buy back power. Most states (I think including CA) with "Net-Metering" don't have sellback beyond your zero balance, so you don't get the excess you generate back as cash. I know you DO get cash back in NJ and CO.
