Well my ancient gas guzzling, blue smoke spewing, 2-cycle Lawn Boy mower was slowly dying, and since I didn't wanna get hosed by the local small engine shop for $100 repair, I decided to retire it. While perusing the Huntsville Trader yahoo website/MB, I found someone that was wanting to sell their American Lawn Mower Co 1415-16 for $15. Well I jumped on it. It needed some lubeing and adjusting but it was in excellent shape.

How does it cut? Pretty good, but not quite 1-pass easy as your standard gas mower. 1st of all, it doesn't do great on really tall grass and leaves seed heads standing about 40% of the time. But it's really quiet and light so making a 2nd pass isn't that bad. Also the wheels are on the outer edge so your cutting width is slightly less on either side.
Despite these shortcomings I really like using this alot better than my old gas mower. I especially like not having to drive to the local gas station and pay $3-4 just to mow the yard (paying for something you don't like to do, its just wrong).
