MEEEE!  I'll be doing a section of the PNRT for a mapping project for the NF Service.

Anyone else hiking on this long weekend?  Where?  Do tell the details!

ABSOLUTELY!  Just not sure exactly where right now... Would like to do something in Sipsey, but not sure I'll have time to make it up there.  Might be Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail.

Probably not me... NY is such a nightmare on weekends, especially holiday weekends, with noisy crowds at nearly every possible hiking location south of the Adirondacks. Look at those f***ing trees, look at those f***ing birds, etc...

Okay, maybe I'm blowing it a LITTLE out of proportion, and maybe I'll find somewhere suitable. Wink

My Dad and I are planning a Sypsey hike. I have not mapped it out yet so not sure what part we will be on but it will probably be around 209 mostly. We are just doing a one nighter, Monday thru Tuesday. This is his second trip so we are keeping them short for now.

Well, I was tentatively planning on getting a head start on my fall hiking plans by doing a one nighter in the Sispey. However, my wife called me Sunday morning (I am in Cincinatti for some training related to work) to inform me that Fay took out 3 trees in my yard. Two of them are on my fence so looks like I'll spend my first weekend back cleaning up trees and repairing a fence.

Will be in Tenn. on Saturday & maybe Sunday. Might try to find some trails there. Or stop by Monte Sano on way back. I haven't been there yet.

I hope so. The last trail update I saw said the trails are pretty overgrown right now and it is going to be hot(highs in the 90s and lows in the 70s). Anyone got any suggestions on a good overnighter(16 miles or less) where my dad and I can take in a water fall. Last time we went to Bee Branch and the Big Tree. I was thinking of using TR209 and finding Wolfpen falls or the one on Ugly Creek.

I would look at eagle creek falls or parker falls. There is a trail to parker falls but bushwacking  is the only way to eagle creek.
